A short history

In 2014 Kanya Ratanaporn rented a room in Phra Pradaeng and began evening sessions with printed weekly charts and a handful of students who wanted to draw swings instead of collecting opinions. The company was registered as Lucid Latticepoint Academy Co., Ltd. in 2016. In 2019 the classroom moved to its present address, where the twelve-seat table still faces a dark wood wall used for pinning the week’s sheet.

Somchai Wetchasit joined in 2021 to take the Pattern Clinic. He had spent twelve years as a broker’s clerk in Bangkok, and he preferred marking one student’s paper to speaking over a crowded room. The Saturday desk was added in 2022 for people who needed candles and trendlines before they committed to six evenings.

How the room works

Charts are printed. Homework returns on the same sheet. A pattern is named only after its boundaries are drawn, and every drawing includes the sentence that would cancel it. Students keep their brokerage accounts elsewhere. The academy does not place orders, hold funds, or publish a call for the next session of the market.

English is the language of the class. The neighbourhood is ordinary Samut Prakan: the river side of Phra Pradaeng, a short walk from food stalls that cover the Saturday lunch break. People come from Bang Phli, the Bangkok riverside, and further along Sukhumvit when the cohort fits their evenings.

What we hold ourselves to

Old charts stay in the pack even when the pattern fails. A tidy textbook drawing is less useful than a weekly close that poked a line and fell back. Tuition is stated before you arrive, and a seat is a chair with your name on the chart pack.
